What Are BL+ Patented Bioactives?
At the center of Blue Lagoon Skin Science are the BL+ Patented Bioactives, proprietary ingredient discoveries born within a geothermal ecosystem unlike anything else on Earth. These bioactives originate in the mineral-rich seawater of the Blue Lagoon and have been refined through more than three decades of scientific research.
Blue Lagoon Silica™ strengthens and protects the skin. Naturally present in Blue Lagoon geothermal seawater, bioactive silica helps reinforce the skin’s structure and improve its ability to retain moisture. It supports the skin barrier, improves overall barrier function, and helps skin maintain essential hydration.
Blue Lagoon Microalgae™ (Cyanobacterium aponinum) nourishes and renews the skin. This rare microalgae thrives in the lagoon’s unique ecosystem and has been shown to support collagen levels while helping protect skin from environmental stressors. It provides antioxidant protection, supports the skin’s natural collagen levels, and helps improve overall skin vitality.
